Community mobilization: The capacity of some 33 Council staff from 11 Councils strengthened in a training of trainers’ workshop.

The Regional Coordination Unit of the PROLOG North West is organizing a workshop to strengthen the capacity of some 33 Council staff drawn from the 11 councils newly admitted to the community investment support grant(CISG) financing window. The main aim of the workshop is to strengthen the capacity of these council staff who will in turn strengthen the capacity of coordinators of village/neighbourhood committees on community mobilization through the creation/revitalization of village/neighbourhood committees, self-climate risks assessment, self-identification of community vulnerability and actions to reduce their exposure to different vulnerabilities and finally the identification and prioritization of community needs. The village/neighbourhood coordinators will in turn organize general assemblies in their communities which will culminate in the identification of their community priority needs that will be presented to PROLOG for financing. The eleven (11) councils concerned by this training are those that were successful in the 2024 Minimum Mandatory Conditions and who were not yet part of the pilot councils. These councils are ANDEK, BABESSI, BALIKUMBAT, BAMENDA 3, BENAKUMA, NDU, NJINIKOM, NKAMBE, SANTA, WIDIKUM and WUM.
The workshop which is taking place in BAFOUSSAM capital of the West Region and runs from the 8th to the 12th of September 2025.
